The official start dates for the 2025/26 Championship and League One seasons have been confirmed by the EFL.
At this stage, it remains to be seen which division Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Wrexham will actually be playing in.
After drawing with Cambridge United last time out, the Welsh outfit go into the latest round of League One fixture sat in second place.
However, there is still a lot to play for and automatic promotion to the Championship is by no means guaranteed.
Wycombe Wanderers have a game in hand, a better goal difference, and are just three points behind Phil Parkinson’s team.

Wrexham learn 2025/26 Championship season start date
This would see the North American-backed club secure the second and final automatic promotion place behind Birmingham City.
Even if a top-two finish it not achievable, Wrexham still probably fancy their chances of coming out on top in the play-offs.
Should that indeed happen, they will have earned themselves a place in the Championship for the first time since it was rebranded in 2004.
Now, as per the EFL’s official website, if Wrexham do go up, their season will begin over the weekend of August 8-August 10.
The fixtures in the Championship will be spread across 33 weekends, nine midweeks, and four Bank Holidays.

2025/26 League One start date
Should the worst happen and Wrexham not win promotion, they will start their 2025/26 League One campaign a little earlier.
The 2025/26 season will kick off for teams in the third tier over the weekend of August 1-August 3.
The fixtures in the League One will be spread across 33 weekends, five midweeks, eight Bank Holidays, and International Breaks.
Wrexham fans will have to wait until Thursday, June 26, 2025, for their club’s official fixture list to be released.
