Wrexham continue to go from strength to strength under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds with another promotion far from out of the question.

Wrexham are approaching the end of 2024 and will soon be able to reflect on another positive year.

On the pitch, Phil Parkinson guided Wrexham to League One, achieving a second straight promotion in the process.

Wrexham now sit third in League One and Ryan Reynolds wanted another promotion this season, so it could yet be three in a row.

Off the pitch, ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ enjoyed success once again whilst Wrexham landed new investment from the Allyn family.

There have been some frustrations too but Wrexham are on the right path as the Hollywood project continues.

Ryan Reynolds on Wrexham progress

Wrexham still have three games to go in 2024, first travelling to managerless Bristol Rovers before hosting Blackpool and Wigan Athletic.

Finishing 2024 on a high will be a priority for Parkinson and Wrexham will have high hopes for 2025 too.

Wrexham are right in contention for yet another promotion and whilst we have seen back-to-back promotions in the past, three in a row would be seriously special.

Wrexham do need to boost the infrastructure around the club as on-field results continue to impress and Ryan Reynolds has now offered his view on the success.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds admitted that Wrexham are progressing even quicker than anybody could have expected.

The Allyn family have invested in Wrexham and Reynolds was quizzed on whether he and Rob McElhenney will be taking a step back from the Wrexham project.

Reynolds completely ruled out that prospect and remains committed to Wrexham, simply suggesting that more expertise was needed behind the scenes to cope with Wrexham’s rapid rise.

“No, we will remain majority owners,” said Reynolds.

“The team is growing faster than anyone expected. There are needs that require a certain type of skill and people who have some experience in growing things. We chose the Allyn family because they have similar values that make Wrexham. They’ve been revitalizing towns and communities for many years in upstate New York, and that’s why bringing them on didn’t cause a big stir,” he added.

Ryan Reynolds verdict on Allyn family

Wrexham fans will be hoping that the Allyn family can provide crucial funds moving forward – especially with the January transfer window around the corner.

Wrexham confirmed the Allyn family’s investment in October and Reynolds joined McElhenney in giving a resounding verdict on them.

“Wrexham has earned the world’s attention and we are focused on bringing on board world-class partners to help with the next phase of our growth. We have been fortunate to get to know the Allyn family and we are blown away by their intelligence, kindness and commitment. They are exactly the type of partners we will need for this amazing endeavor,” said Reynolds and McElhenney.

Phil Parkinson has praised the Allyn family too with their arrival viewed as a major positive.

Whether we see that boost displayed in January spending remains to be seen, but it should certainly help Wrexham in the long term.
