Ryan Reynolds has shared his appreciation for the town of Wrexham this week following Welcome to Wrexham’s success.
After buying Wrexham in 2021, Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac decided to launch their own documentary series after Rob was inspired by Sunderland Till I Die.
Welcome to Wrexham has seen the club’s fanbase grow across the globe, as was evident by the large attendance for the Sydney game in Australia on Tuesday.
The fourth season of the documentary has wrapped up and covered the Dragons’ journey across the 2024/25 League One season.
In it, we saw Paul Mullin open up on his lack of game time, the club win a third successive promotion, and much more.
Ryan Reynolds message after Welcome to Wrexham nominations
Now, Welcome to Wrexham has received another three Emmy nominations in 2025.
The show has already won eight and been nominated for a total of 15.
After the latest nominations, Reynolds posted a heartwarming message to Instagram, in which he praised the town of Wrexham.
He wrote: “Numbers, years, and space can’t contain how proud I am of the Welcome to Wrexham team.
“And huge congratulations to the entire town of Wrexham. Your stories of joy, perseverance and pain are yours. Sharing those stories is not only generous, but it’s made the world a better place. Up The Town.”
Will there be a season 5 of Welcome to Wrexham
Wrexham are now set to compete in the Championship during the 2025/26 season.
Season 5 of Welcome to Wrexham has already been confirmed, though an exact release date is not yet known.
However, it’s likely the documentary will once again air around June/July 2026 and will cover the club’s first campaign back in the second tier of English football since the 1980s.
