Ryan Reynolds slammed as rival fans hit out for bizarre reason – Wrexham co-owner has no control

Ryan Reynolds has caught a stray from rival fans for a pretty bizarre reason this week.

Wrexham beat Bolton Wanderers in the quarter-final of the EFL Trophy on Tuesday evening thanks to a wonder goal from Andy Cannon.

That match was their first in seven days after having the weekend off but also marked the start of a very busy period.

Owing to their participation in the EFL Trophy, Wrexham now have a congested fixture schedule over the next month or so.

It means a long run of two games a week is now on the horizon for Phil Parkinson and his players.

Meanwhile, though Wrexham were not in action over the weekend, Leyton Orient took on Manchester City in the FA Cup, losing 2-1.

The duo were supposed to face off in League One on Saturday but, of course, could not.

Ryan Reynolds slammed as Wrexham fixture with Leyton Orient given new date

It was announced on February 11th that Wrexham’s fixture with Leyton Orient had been rescheduled to Tuesday the 18th.

Orient confirmed the news via social media and for some reason, their fans were really not happy, even choosing to hit out at Ryan Reynolds following the update.

One fan wrote: “Very thoughtful of @Wrexham_AFC , @VancityReynolds and @EFL to ‘mandate’ the fixture we was meant to play on 8 Feb in just under a weeks time … NOT. So much fixture congestion, yet no consideration of player welfare as this could’ve been played at a later date!”

A second added: “Absolutely disgusting. “Bending over backwards for the Hollywood Welsh, who, as usual, will score a winner in as much injury time as the ref needs to ensure victory.”

“Giving Wrexham the best chance of victory knowing Orient will be knackered from playing four games in 10 days,” another wrote.

Another Leyton Orient fan simply wrote: “Ridiculous,” while a fifth questioned: “Cant we appeal? Or are we ok to be bullied by these clowns? No one wants to go to Wales ever but to be marched there by the EFL with a week’s notice is beyond the pail.”

Wrexham fixture list is very busy

Reynolds obviously has no control over fixture dates so why he was catching strays after the Orient game was moved is pretty bizarre.

And if anything, it should be Wrexham fans who are unhappy with the new date for the match as their upcoming run of games is so hectic.

It’s a good job Wrexham have a high-quality squad as they will surely need to utilise it fully in the next month.
