Wrexham were in action against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday, looking to book their place in the last-four of the EFL Trophy.
It was a tough outing for the Red Dragons, who were forced to spend much of the game without the ball.
But despite being kept inside their own half during the opening stages of the match, Wrexham did begin to click as the tie wore on.
Phil Parkinson had to make four changes at once to get a tune out of his players but it eventually paid off as Andy Cannon scored a brilliant goal in the 70th minute.
Wrexham beat Bolton Wanderers 1-0 and will now take on Peterborough United in the semi-finals before a potential final meeting with League One rivals, Birmingham City.
James McClean highlighted two players after Bolton, with Cannon obviously getting much of the plaudits for his effort.
George Evans was very impressive as well and could now hand Parkinson a welcome selection headache.
However, there was another star who once again didn’t do enough to show he has a future at the Racecourse Ground.

Sebastian Revan is running out of chances to save Wrexham career
Sebastian Revan joined Wrexham over the summer from Premier League outfit Aston Villa in a deal Transfmarkt report was worth €416,000 (around £346,000).
The wing-back made his first league start in a 0-0 draw with Bolton in August and looked pretty decent in his 90-minute outing.
However, since that match, Revan was been poor for Wrexham and made just two appearances in their last 10 league games for a total of 92 minutes.
Parkinson has been giving the defender a chance to prove himself in the cup competitions but it just hasn’t worked out.
The 21-year-old was well off his game when Wrexham lost to Harrogate Town and continues to underperform in the EFL Trophy.
Revan was poor against Port Vale for large periods and was similarly woeful during the win over Bolton.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney need to cut their losses on Sebastian Revan
Revan completed 90 minutes of the quarter-final tie but his 62% passing accuracy and failure to complete a single cross shows he just doesn’t fit Parkinson’s system.
Wrexham rely heavily on their wing-backs to provide a lot of their attacking threat, with Ryan Barnett, Ryan Longman, and McClean all doing this well.
However, every time Revan gets on the pitch his side of the attack almost always produces less.
Wrexham’s recruitment under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney has been largely good but they may need to cut their losses on the former Villa man and look at a sale in the summer.
He can’t get a game in League One and as the club obviously want to be playing Championship football, it’s clear he just wasn’t the right signing.
