A Wrexham player left Ryan Reynolds boasting to Channing Tatum, but he has now been without a club since earlier this summer.
Wrexham made history in 2024/25 when they secured a third promotion in a row.
No side had ever started in the National League or higher and gone back-to-back-to-back.
But Wrexham won promotion from League One after beating Charlton Athletic 3-0 at the Racecourse Ground.
Among the players who had a crucial role in their success last term was former striker Steven Fletcher.

What Ryan Reynolds told Channing Tatum about Steven Fletcher
Fletcher joined Wrexham for free in 2023 after being released from Dundee United.
The Scotsman played a key role in their League Two promotion campaign and was similarly impactful last season.
His age meant the 38-year-old could not regularly start games last term, but he was amazing off the bench.
Fletcher ended 2024/25 as Wrexham’s top-scoring centre-forward with eight in 40 league fixtures.
One of those goals came against Cambridge United on December 14, 2024, helping Wrexham secure a 2-2 draw.
Ryan Reynolds praised Fletcher during that match, which he ended alongside Channing Tatum.
As was captured in Season 4 of Welcome to Wrexham, when the striker was coming on in that game, Reynolds turned to Tatum and stated: “He’s a beast, he’s like, I don’t know, 36 or so. He’ll like throw up a bicycle kick in the air.”
To which Tatum replied: ” I ——- love it.”

Why Steven Fletcher left Wrexham
Sadly, the now 38-year-old is no longer part of the Dragons’ squad.
In May, Fletcher confirmed he was leaving Wrexham, saying in a social media message that his exit was ‘not by choice’.
It seemingly suggests he would have signed a contract extension if offered, which he clearly wasn’t.
Fletcher has started a new project away from football and has now been without a club since his Wrexham deal expired on June 30, 2025.
