Wrexham’s League Two season is now over and the key men from Phil Parkinson’s promotion push were acknowledged at an awards ceremony on Monday night.
We are more than two weeks on from Wrexham’s 6-0 thrashing of Forest Green Rovers, which secured promotion to League One.
Wrexham didn’t just relax after winning promotion, instead going on to beat Crewe Alexandra and Stockport County to end the season on a high.
Saturday’s win over Stockport gave fans a chance to celebrate another fantastic season before heading into the summer transfer window.
Fans can now look forward to a return to league One, but also look back on another memorable campaign.
Monday night saw Wrexham’s End of Season Awards Evening take place at William Aston Hall.
Elliot Lee took home the Players’ Player of the Season Award whilst there was no surprise at Max Cleworth winning the Young Player of the Season Award.
Paul Mullin announcement leaves Wrexham fans surprised
We saw awards for the likes of Rosie Hughes and Lili Jones, before the big award of the night was announced.
Paul Mullin was named as the Player of the Season, winning the award for a third time in a row.
Mullin recovered from an injury-hit start to the season to end up with 24 goals and six assists in 38 League Two games.
To put it simply, Wrexham wouldn’t have gone up without Mullin’s impact and seeing him continue to score goals has been a delight.
Mullin winning the award has left some confused though, with some fans believing that Andy Cannon should have won the award instead.
The midfielder has become increasingly popular this season and supporters felt that his outstanding displays should have been rewarded.
Some believe that Cannon was ‘robbed’ despite Mullin’s fine displays, suggesting that the former Stockport man deserved the award this time.

Cannon has been a mainstay of Phil Parkinson’s side this season, racking up 35 League Two appearances.
Mullin’s goals take the headlines but Cannon has been a real driving force from the middle of the pitch.
Cannon has been especially brilliant in the promotion run-in, racking up five goals and two assists in the last seven games.
Cannon has been hailed as ‘sensational’ by executive director Humphrey Ker and it’s clear that Wrexham fans agree.
Mullin has fired Wrexham to promotion and it isn’t a case of fans being unappreciative of him, but more just wanting to see Cannon recognised for his displays.
Cannon will at least know that Wrexham fans absolutely love him and even if he didn’t win the award, and may be he will go one better next season.
