Wrexham and Stockport County have developed quite the rivalry over the last several years and will clash once more on Saturday.
After securing a massive win over Wycombe Wanderers last time out, Wrexham now face another grueling challenge this coming weekend.
The Red Dragons know they will move back into the automatic promotion places if they secure any form of positive results against Stockport County, but that will be easier said than done.
Stockport have haunted Wrexham for several years and are once again looking to spoil their party in 2024/25.
It’s the Welsh outfit who have the advantage in the League One promotion race right now, but The Hatters are only six points adrift in fifth place.
Both sides were promoted from League Two in 2023/24, with Stockport winning the title ahead of Wrexham despite Phil Parkinson’s side picking up a 2-1 win in their clash on the final day.
Before that, the two League One high-flyers went head-to-head in the National League.

Ryan Reynolds sent touching message to Stockport County
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds‘ first full season as owners of Wrexham came in 2021/22.
The Welsh outfit spent big during that campaign and after the appointment of experienced manager Parkinson, were looking to end their long stint in the National League.
However, Wrexham were beaten to the title by their upcoming opponents, who won promotion from the fifth tier with 94 points.
The Red Dragons went on to lose in the play-offs against Grimsby Town after Reynolds sent a message of congratulations to Stockport for their success in 2021/22.
He wrote: “What a season for @Wrexham_AFC. We’re gonna have to do this the hard way. Our supporters are second to none and a big part of our success. I want to congratulate @StockportCounty on their promotion. Played their guts out all year.”
Stockport County manager had x-rated chant for Wrexham
After losing out on the National League title despite heavy investment, Reynolds showed his class by sending a message to Stockport.
However, not long after Reynolds’ message, their manager, Dave Challinor, had an interesting chant for Wrexham.
As per the Daily Star, after winning promotion to League Two Challinor, was spotted celebrating in a pub.
It was reported that while celebrating with fans in a bar, the manager could be heard starting a chant of “—- you Wrexham we’re gonna win the league”.
