Wrexham have been given a new prediction by the OPTA supercomputer following the historic Championship win against Millwall.

Wrexham beat Millwall to claim their first Championship win of the 2025/26 season, with Kieffer Moore and Lewis O’Brien popping up with the goals to topple the Lions at The Den.

The aftermath of the game has seen James McClean wind up Millwall supporters after Wrexham won their first second-tier match in 43 years.

After a challenging start to the 2025/26 Championship campaign for Phil Parkinson’s side, Wrexham have now got over the hurdle of claiming their first victory, something that has reinstilled confidence in the Red Dragons fanbase.

The win has also forced the OPTA Analyst supercomputer to reconvene on its stance for Wrexham, with a fresh prediction being made following the Millwall win.

Wrexham predicted to achieve Championship survival by supercomputer

Following a crucial victory on Wrexham’s travels, seeing off Millwall in London, Wrexham have now been predicted to finish 21st in the Championship, one place above the relegation zone.

At this stage, the majority of Wrexham supporters would be willing to take survival, something that is 75.38% likely, according to the supercomputer.

That means that the chances of relegation back to League One are 24.62%. For any optimistic Wrexham supporters who believe that the win at Millwall could be the start of a major resurgence under Phil Parkinson, a play-off finish is 6.26% likely for the Red Dragons.

The win at Millwall has boosted Wrexham’s survival hopes, with the supercomputer predicting a 23rd-place finish after the Sheffield Wednesday draw.

Who is predicted for relegation from the Championship

After Wrexham’s win against Millwall, the supercomputer has plunged Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County and Oxford United into uncertainty.

All three clubs in the predicted bottom three are yet to win a Championship game this season, unlike the Red Dragons who have finally earned that vital three points.

The other two teams to be winless at this stage of the season are Sheffield United and Ipswich Town, who have been predicted 9th and 10th place, respectively.

Fellow promoted clubs Birmingham City and Charlton Athletic have both enjoyed positive starts to the season, with the Blues being predicted for an 11th-place finish, while the Addicks are in line for 19th, just two spots above Wrexham.

Ahead of the season, many Wrexham fans will have taken survival, even if it was not in the prettiest fashion, and a 21st-placed finish would be welcomed by many.
