Wrexham are jetting off to Australia this month for their pre-season tour down under. Their first game: Melbourne Victory.

Wrexham are globetrotting once again, this time going to Australia and New Zealand to give their Oceania fans a glimpse, following a third-straight promotion under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Last season, Wrexham finished in 2nd place of the League One table to secure automatic promotion, and Phil Parkinson and co have big plans for the summer transfer window which runs until September 1st.

Already, Wrexham have signed Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward. But there are plenty more expected to arrive at the Racecourse in due time and Parkinson may be keen to get one or two more in before the club jets off to Australia.

On July 11th, Wrexham play Melbourne Victory, then Sydney FC on July 15th, and then New Zealand’s Wellington Phoenix on July 19th. Wrexham play Southampton on the opening day of the 2025/26 Championship season on August 9th.

Sydney FC send message to Wrexham ahead of Australia pre-season tour

Wrexham fans are excited to see how the players have returned following the off-season. And whilst there’s two new names to check out in Hardie and Ward, Paul Mullin has joined Wigan Athletic on loan and so we’ll see how the club fares without him, along with others like Steven Fletcher who was among the eight Wrexham players released at the end of last season.

And ahead of the visit of Wrexham, Sydney FC have taken to X to welcome their Welsh counterparts to their Allianz Stadium, with a simple message: “See you very soon,” whilst also tagging the club.

Last season, Auckland FC won the A-League. Sydney FC finished in 7th, Melbourne Victory finished in 5th, and Wellington Phoenix finished in 11th. Sydney also boast a potentially familiar name in their ranks too: former Nottingham Forest man Joe Lolley who joined in 2022.

Wrexham’s first five Championship fixtures in 2025/26

After the final game against Wellington, Wrexham have 21 days before going up against Southampton in their opening fixture of the 2025/26 Championship campaign.

So expect Parkinson and Wrexham to book in maybe one or two more fixtures when the club gets back from Australia and before the game against Southampton.

Expect Wrexham to want to go up against some tougher opponents before Southampton, maybe even a Premier League opponent or a top-end League One club to test themselves.

Every fixture is going to be a tough one for the Dragons next season. But Wrexham may have already secured Championship survival with Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday embargoed, and potentially set to linger in the bottom three throughout.
