Wrexham have some high-value players on their books thanks to their recent rise up the EFL.

Since Hollywood duo Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds took charge of Wrexham in February 2021, they have experienced a meteoric rise up the EFL ladder.

The Red Dragons spent 15 years floundering in the National League but after Phil Parkinson was appointed Wrexham manager in 2022, they have secured two promotions in three seasons.

The Welsh outfit are now plying their trade in League One for the first time in their history and with their assent, the money has followed.

The £300,000 paid out for Ollie Palmer was previously the club’s most expensive signing but thanks to the backing of the Wrexham owners, that record was smashed twice in August 2024.

Wrexham paid £500,000 to Rotherham United for Ollie Rathbone in early August but the midfielder spent just a couple of weeks as their record transfer.

With just over 24 hours of the 2024 summer window remaining, Wrexham secured the signing of West Bromwich Albion striker Modou Faal, whose fee surpassed Rathbone’s by £90,000.

Now, TWI have taken a look at the club’s 11 most valuable players according to Transfermarkt.

How much Wrexham duo Max Cleworth and Modou Faal are worth

Wrexham fans will probably be surprised by the fact Max Cleworth and Faal are not among the most valuable Wrexham players.

Faal may be their record signing but he is a player for the future and his market value will likely increase in the coming years.

At present, Transfermarkt value the striker at £225,000 – £365,000 less than what Wrexham paid for him.

Meanwhile, Cleworth’s rise under Parkinson has been nothing short of remarkable but he is currently valued at a surprisingly low £150,000.
