Wrexham will have to navigate a number of changes in rules upon their promotion to the Championship.
Phil Parkinson’s side are looking forward to their first Championship campaign since 1982 and owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have ambitions to go one better in the future.
Wrexham will have to deal with changes upon their promotion, they can now name nine substitutes and have international breaks throughout the season.
The club are busy in the transfer market trying to mould a 25-man squad for the second tier and Wrexham will have to target loan players in a change to their previous transfer strategies.
However, there are some lesser-known rules that come with loaning players and Wrexham Insider is here to explain what the Red Dragons will need to take into consideration this season.

EFL loan rules for Wrexham to consider
Wrexham have to name a 25-man squad for this season, of which eight players have to be home grown – a player registered with the FA for three seasons before they reach the age of 21.
There is no limit on how many loan signings Wrexham can make, the Championship’s top six clubs made use of loan signings this season on their way to success.
However, any loan signing made must be registered as part of that 25-man squad and the club can only name five loan signings within a matchday squad.
There are also restrictions on how many players can be loaned from the same club, a team cannot loan more than four players from another side and only two of those can be above the age of 23.
Therefore, hypothetically, Wrexham could sign seven players on loan from various teams this summer but would have to leave two players out of every matchday squad given the maximum limit of five.
These seven players would also have to be part of the 25-man squad no matter what their age, leaving Parkinson with just 18 players to choose from to fill the squad list.
Wrexham should target Premier League youngsters on loan
Part of the challenge for Parkinson this summer is getting the right blend of bringing in youth and experience, whilst keeping the core of his squad together.
There are a number of Premier League loan deals for Wrexham to consider, Jayden Danns of Liverpool was a target back in January and is reportedly available on loan once again this summer.
Meanwhile, the likes of Jamie Donley, who spent the season at League One rivals Leyton Orient, could also be available on a temporary deal to bolster creative midfield options.
The intrigue of Wrexham in the transfer market this summer is whether they can find the right balance in their acquisitions but it would be a huge surprise if the loan market wasn’t explored for one or two options.
