Merry Christmas to all Wrexham fans, after what has been another blockbuster year for the Red Dragons.
Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney certainly provided entertainment at the Racecourse Ground in 2024, with Wrexham’s promotion from League Two a standout in the spring.
Momentum hasn’t slowed for Phil Parkinson’s side, who are on course for another promotion battle as Wrexham look to get out of League One at the first attempt.
Given the excitement that could be in store for next year, here are three Christmas wishes that every Wrexham fan will be hoping come true this year.

Paul Mullin to find his scoring boots again
Paul Mullin has been central to Wrexham’s remarkable back-to-back promotions in the last two years. He scored 38 goals on the way to the club’s National League title success, then followed up with 24 goals on the way to League Two promotion last season.
However, the Englishman has struggled for goals in League One, leading to pundits saying that Parkinson should replace Mullin in the transfer window.
Mullin is a fan favourite and club legend at Wrexham for his contributions in previous seasons, though, meaning that the Red Dragons fan base will wish to see a return to form for their goalscoring hero rather than a replacement.
No more injuries in goal for Wrexham
With the League One campaign going so well for Parkinson and his Wrexham squad, Arthur Okonkwo’s injury in November threatened to derail any momentum.
Callum Burton stepped up and impressed between the sticks, but then Burton tore his thigh which has left veteran goalkeeper Mark Howard as the unlikely number-one choice in the Wrexham squad.
Wrexham fans will be wishing for a speedy recovery for Okonkwo and Burton and not to see a repeat of this injury crisis again as the promotion run-in takes shape.
A third consecutive promotion!
It may seem greedy, but Wrexham fans will have an unfathomable third consecutive promotion at the top of their Christmas wishlist this year.
Parkinson’s side are firmly in the mix for the promotion places and with the January transfer window coming up, the Wrexham owners will surely be looking to capitalise on the strong start in League One.
Nobody could’ve predicted a chance at Championship football in the 25/26 season when Wrexham were in the National League just two campaigns ago, but Reynolds and McElhenney have worked miracles already at Wrexham so another promotion could well be on the cards next year.
The team at The Wrexham Insider wishes you a Merry Christmas. Let’s hope that these wishes come true as we head into 2025!
