Wrexham produced a fantastic display on the road to beat Norwich City 3-2 at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.
Phil Parkinson highlighted the return of Josh Windass ahead of Wrexham’s trip to Norwich City, but few expected him to be thrown straight into the starting XI.
That decision paid dividends in a big way, as Windass scored twice to help Wrexham beat Norwich 3-2.
Ryan Longman was also on the scoresheet in an impressive Wrexham victory on the road – a second away victory in a row.

Wrexham duo Josh Windass and Ryan Longman named in Championship ‘Team of the Day’
Wrexham’s display, rather unsurprisingly, resulted in a couple of players being named in the Championship ‘Team of the Day’ by The Football League Paper.
Goalscorers Windass and Longman both made the cut, having scored second-half goals for Wrexham at Carrow Road.
Windass produced two fine finishes, drilling his first goal past Vladan Kovacevic after being picked out by Issa Kabore.
The second was even better, as Windass sumptuously curled the ball beyond Kovacevic to make it 3-1.
As for Longman, he slotted home from Kabore’s pull-back to fire Wrexham ahead, showing off the wing-back to wing-back play all managers dream of when playing a back three.
All three goals were taken brilliantly, and those finishes will have been the key factor in their inclusion in The Football League Paper’s ‘Team of the Day’.
Other Wrexham players were worthy of inclusion, though, as Kabore dazzled down the right flank with two assists.
Ben Sheaf impressed Wrexham fans, and he certainly deserves a shout, as he impressed on his full debut.
Ultimately, this was a real team effort from Wrexham, but a number of players deserve individual recognition for their displays.
Phil Parkinson misses out on ‘top boss’
Despite a brilliant victory on the road, Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson missed out on the ‘top boss’ in The Football League Paper’s ‘Team of the Day’.
Hull City’s Sergej Jakirovic was given that distinction after the Tigers beat Southampton 3-1 at home on Saturday afternoon.
That was an impressive result for Hull, who had won just one of their first five games before the Saints arrived in town.
Perhaps Norwich’s shaky home form this season played a part in Parkinson missing out as well, but the Wrexham boss had a fantastic weekend and would have been a deserved selection here.
