Wrexham beat Norwich City 3-2, and one star had an impressive yet underrated performance.
Wrexham bounced back from a poor display at home to Queens Park Rangers by beating Norwich City 3-2.
Phil Parkinson opted to make some big calls for the weekend’s clash, including dropping James McClean and Conor Coady.
They all paid off, and while Arthur Okonkwo’s display left much to be desired, the majority of Wrexham players on the day shone.
Josh Windass scored twice and came in for much praise from journalists for his 75-minute display.
Wrexham fans waxed lyrical about Issa Kabore after he provided two assists on his debut outing.
But there was another new star who fans are swiftly falling in love with after Norwich.

Wrexham fans excited by Ben Sheaf after Norwich City
Alongside Kabore and Dom Hyam, Wrexham signed Ben Sheaf from Coventry City in a £6.5m deal on deadline day.
The midfielder came off the bench versus QPR but was given his first start of the campaign on September 20.
While Kabore and Windass took much of the plaudits, fans are now showing their support for Sheaf.
One fan wrote: “Sheaf is incredible. How have we got him.”
“What a player, him, Hyam and Kabore made the world of difference today,” stated another.
A third called Sheaf ‘great’ but did mention his injury issues: “A great player. If he stays fit, one of the best in the league. It’s a gamble with him.”
“Sheaf MOTM for me…. Passing range was phenomenal,” suggested another.
A fifth wrote: “Ben Sheaf is an absolute stud,” with another adding: “Sheaf is amazing.”
Ben Sheaf stats in Norwich City vs Wrexham
Wrexham have a largely new-look midfield following their summer spending.
Lewis O’Brien has been a regular starter since signing from Nottingham Forest, and Sheaf has instantly slotted in alongside the former Swansea City man.
George Dobson has also looked sharp in the opening few games, but it remains to be seen if he will keep his place when Ollie Rathbone returns.
| Ben Sheaf | Stats vs Norwich City |
| Minutes | 66 |
| Touches | 48 |
| Accurate passes | 32/36 (89%) |
| Long balls (accurate) | 5 (4) |
| Ground duels (won) | 3 (2) |
| Total tackles | 2 |

Regardless, Wrexham should not have to worry about midfield issues moving forward, though their goalkeeper and left-wing-back positions could still be a concern due to injury problems.
