Fresh from their disappointing draw against Bristol Rovers, Wrexham will be hoping to get back on the winning trial against Blackpool.

The Red Dragons play host to the Tangerines on Boxing Day, which will be the first meeting between the two sides since 2005.

Nine places currently separate them in League One and many will favour Phil Parkinson’s side to come away with the three points.

With that being said, Blackpool boss Steve Bruce has himself spoken on the difficulty of travelling to the Racecourse Ground.

Steve Bruce speaks on ‘difficult’ Wrexham challenge

With the Christmas calendar heating up and games come thick and fast – Blackpool face both Wrexham and Birmingham in a matter of days.

Bruce, who tipped Wrexham for promotion, has commented on his side’s tough run of fixtures – highlighting the difficulty of facing The Red Dragons – via Blackpool Gazette.

“We couldn’t have wished for a more difficult period after Stevenage. Stevenage are on a good run themselves, they’re just behind us in the table. We go to Wrexham and Birmingham, two of the most difficult games you’ll have back-to-back.

“They’re the big games you look forward to over the festive period, great it’s what we’re here for.”

Wrexham’s worrying record against Blackpool

Having comfortably beaten the likes of Reading in recent weeks, Bruce’s side will be no easy task for The Red Dragons.

Wrexham’s trend of conceding late goals mixed with Blackpool’s strong goalscoring record suggests the Racecourse Ground could be in for a Christmas cracker.

Parkinson’s men will also be wary of their poor record against The Tangerines and will hope to rectify their mistakes in years gone by.
