Paul Mullin has once again been left out by Phil Parkinson for Wrexham’s latest League One fixture.

Wrexham signed Paul Mullin back in the summer of 2021 from their opponents on April 1, Cambridge United.

Mullin has had some prolific seasons at the Racecourse Ground, scoring over 100 goals to become one of the club’s all-time top goalscorers.

However, the 30-year-old has fallen heavily out of favour under Phil Parkinson this season, especially in the last two months.

Humphrey Ker says Mullin could have a future at Wrexham still, but it’s hard to see where he fits into the team now.

There was no return to his former club for the striker on Tuesday evening, with Mullin once again left out of the matchday squad.

Why Paul Mullin missed Wrexham clash with Cambridge United

Yet again, the striker was left out of another League One game, now being absent for 11 games in a row.

It’s an unfortunate situation, with Wrexham fans still asking about Mullin and why he’s not even making squads anymore.

Now, two journalists have been dciussing the centre-forward’s absence on social media after he was again ommited this week.

Rob.Ryan.Red podcast, ran by journalists Rich Fay and Nathan Salt, posted about Mullin’s lack of action on Tuesday evening.

They were then asked why the Englishman has seemingly disappeared from the first-team picture, with questions over a falling out posed.

However, they simply suggested it’s down to Mullin now being far down the striker pecking order.

They wrote: “Just down the pecking order. Smith, Rodriguez, Fletcher, Marriott and probably Faal all preferred in PP’s [Phil Parkinson] eyes right now.”

When does Paul Mullin’s Wrexham contract expire

It remains to be seen if Mullin will get any more game time in League One this season.

He did line out and score for the club’s reserves last week but at best, he appears to be the fifth choice in the league now.

Mullin remains under contract until 2027 and given his legendary status, should have the right to see out that deal if he wishes.

But with so few minutes afforded to him over the last two months, perhaps he could be eyeing a new club come the summer.
