Wrexham endured a frustrating result on Saturday afternoon, but one player has been recognised for a superb performance.
Friday’s game against Bristol Rovers has become incredibly important for Wrexham.
Phil Parkinson watched on as Wrexham drew 0-0 with Wigan Athletic, failing to register a shot on target in the process.
Wrexham just didn’t quite click at the Brick Community Stadium, opening the door for Wycombe Wanderers to close the gap.
Wycombe beat Huddersfield Town last week before defeating Stevenage with a late goal on Saturday afternoon.
That means Wrexham’s lead in second place is down to just one point with four huge games to come.

Wrexham star named in EFL Team of the Week
Parkinson praised Arthur Okonkwo after he made a crucial save to deny Maleace Asamoah on a Wigan counter-attack.
Okonkwo wasn’t the only Wrexham man who impressed, though, as defender Eoghan O’Connell excelled at the back.
The Irishman racked up 22 clearances, of which 16 were headers, as well as winning all 11 of his aerial duels.
O’Connell was an absolute rock in the Wrexham defence, and his brilliance has been recognised.
The official EFL Team of the Week has emerged with O’Connell earning a place in defence.
O’Connell joins Wycombe match-winner Caleb Taylor in the side, with Carlisle United’s Terell Thomas making up the back line.
Leeds United’s Manor Solomon and Coventry City’s Matt Grimes are also included with the two players chasing promotions from the Championship.
Dan Scarr role sums up O’Connell displays
O’Connell entered the season under some pressure to keep his place.
Wrexham recruited Dan Scarr in August, landing the centre back from Plymouth Argyle.
Scarr arrived with Championship and League One experience, offering Parkinson another quality option in the heart of defence.
Yet, as the season draws to a close, Scarr has started just nine League One games this season and come off the bench in one more.
O’Connell, on the other hand, has racked up 37 starts and one substitute appearance, really hammering home that he is Parkinson’s man in the heart of defence.
Humphrey Ker has suggested O’Connell for Player of the Season at Wrexham, and whilst others may be ahead of him, he deserves to be in the conversation.
