Wrexham have not made a dream start in their return to the second tier of English football, as they currently sit directly above the Championship relegation zone.
The Red Dragons have collected a total of four points from a possible 15 in their opening five matches, with only Sheffield Wednesday, Oxford United and Sheffield United having made worse starts.
This poor start for Wrexham has seen questions being raised about the future of their manager, Phil Parkinson, with rumours starting about possible replacements for him at the helm.

This has seen one former Wales star speak about the ‘precarious position’ both Wrexham and Phil Parkinson are now in only five games into the Championship campaign.

Former Wales international Nathan Blake’s critical verdict on Wrexham’s start to the season
There have been questions raised about just how Wrexham could fix their problems and discover some form quickly, with a lot of fingers being pointed to their defence.
One of those raising questions was former Wales international Nathan Blake, as he spoke with the BBC Radio Wales’ Feast of Football Phone-In.
He said: “Wrexham are in a bit of a precarious position at the moment. The heat is going to come on the manager pretty quick if they don’t start picking up wins.

“They’re conceding all the time; they’re not tight enough; they’re too passive in the way they are. They do need to sort that out.
“We can’t keep saying ‘it’s early days’. What happens is that confidence starts to ebb away.
“Fans start getting on your case, and it gets harder to get on a roll, and before you know it, it’s Christmas, and you’re in a relegation fight.”

Managerial change could be a quick fix to Wrexham’s problems
There have been suggestions that a change at the helm of Wrexham may yield other, more positive results, with five managers being named as potential replacements for Phil Parkinson.
The five names mentioned have all had Premier League coaching experience, and Wrexham fans may be excited by all of them; however, their approaches to football differ quite significantly.

Michael Carrick, Sean Dyche and Ralph Hasenhuttl have all been mentioned; whether Parkinson loses his job and Wrexham would pursue these options is another question.
However, time will tell whether Wrexham believe the solution to this poor form is a new manager or whether they believe giving Parkinson time to work with his new squad to garner further success in North Wales.
