A billionaire who was mooted to buy Wrexham is now looking to secure a takeover of a Championship rival.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have already secured investment from one set of billionaires at Wrexham.
In 2024, the Allyn family joined the club after previously showing some interest in Premier League outfit Liverpool.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Reynolds and Mac wanted to sell a stake in Wrexham amid a £350m valuation of the North Wales outfit.
At the time, it was mooted that Turki Al-Sheikh could invest in the Red Dragons after previously showing interest in other Championship teams. But he is now eyeing up another second-tier side.

Turki Al-Sheikh eyes takeover of Wrexham Championship rival
It was suggested by one finance expert that Middle East investors could secure a stake in Wrexham.
But back in June, it was reported that Turki Al-Sheikh was interested in Bristol City, who ply their trade in the Championship.
His interest in the Robins has now taken a step forward, according to recent reports.
As per journalist Alan Nixon via his Patreon, Turki Al-Sheikh is closing in on a takeover of Bristol City.
It’s claimed that a formal bid for the second-tier outfit has now been put together and is set to be made soon.
He is said to be eyeing up a property in the area from which he will operate when he is in England.
Should that move go ahead, it would mean any investment in Wrexham would be off the cards.

Billionaires want to invest in Wrexham
While Turki Al-Sheikh joining Wrexham now looks unlikely, Rob and Ryan are not expected to be short of fresh investment from elsewhere.
Their 2025/26 season may have started on the back foot, but the Dragons’ meteoric rise in the last few years has garnered much attention.
So much so that, earlier this year, club chief Humphrey Ker revealed that multiple billionaires have contacted Reynolds and Mac to invest in Wrexham.
He said: “Then I think what happens is that Rob and Ryan go into their Rolodex and call up one of the dozens and dozens of people who’ve got in touch within the last four years and been like ‘hi I’m a multi, multi, multi billionaire, I want to join in on this with you’.
“They would stay on, remain in their roles, but we would have someone who could help because basically getting out of the Championship to the Premier League, you’re just lighting money.”
