Wrexham are going from strength to strength as the club have been handed their third boost in less than 24 hours.

Wrexham earned a battling 1-1 with League One leaders Birmingham at the Racecourse Ground before Wrexham announced the signing of Ryan Longman from Hull City.

Fans were delighted with Wrexham’s performance against arguably the best team in the division and Phil Parkinson’s side were unfortunate not to take all three points from the game.

Wrexham also beat Championship opposition to the signing of Longman and the good news doesn’t stop there for the club – a contract extension has been announced for one of their stars.

Wrexham announce contract extension of Jack Marriott

Wrexham have announced that forward Jack Marriott has signed a new contract that will keep him at the Racecourse until the end of the 2025-26 season, with the option to extend by another year.

Marriott began the season in sensational style with five goals in his opening ten games but suffered a broken fibula in September, returning to the squad just recently against Shrewsbury Town.

The focus now for Marriott can be fully on getting back to full fitness and breaking into Parkinson’s first eleven. Arthur Okonkwo has claimed how ‘hungry’ Marriott has looked in training.

Speaking to Wrexham official website, Marriott has stated: “I’m really grateful that the Club have agreed the deal. I’m really pleased to extend my stay here and it’s a really happy time for me and my family.”

Phil Parkinson pleased with Marriott’s contract extension

Phil Parkinson is also pleased to be able to call upon Marriott’s services for another eighteen months at least and has paid tribute to the work ethic of his forward during his injury spell.

Parkinson stated: “Jack has worked really hard in his rehabilitation, and we are pleased that we have been able to agree a new deal and extend his stay.”

Parkinson will be hoping that Marriott upon his return to the fold can strike up a partnership with new signing Longman. Longman has played right-wing back in his career and therefore could be set to supply Marriott for the remainder of the season.

Parkinson will no doubt still be keen to add to his squad before the window shuts but will feel he has secured two vital pieces of his jigsaw in Longman and Marriott.
