Wrexham were eyeing another victory on home soil when they went up against Barnsley on Tuesday evening.
The Red Dragons went into the game no doubt fancying their chances of earning three points given their superb record at the Racecourse Ground this term.
Wrexham had picked up 25 points from their first nine home matches of 2024/25, while Barnsley have previously been dismal in Wales.
The Yorkshire outfit had won just one of the past seven meetings between these two teams and failed to win any of their previous 16 visits to Wrexham.
Phil Parkinson named an unchanged starting line-up for the clash, with Matty James once again in from the off and Elliot Lee starting up top in place of Paul Mullin.
As has often been the case, certainly away from home this season, Wrexham started the game fairly slow and allowed Barnsley to dominate possession and create the chances.

Wrexham dealt Callum Burton injury blow vs Barsnley
In truth, it was a fairly quiet start to the game from both teams with not much going on at either end.
However, Wrexham were then dealt a major blow on the injury front after just 23 minutes of action.
Callum Burton pulled up appearing to be holding his hamstring before trying to continue for a few moments.
But after another Barnsley attempt went wide, the goalkeeper went down and was eventually replaced by Mark Howard.
It is a particularly big blow for Parkinson and co. given their current number one, Arthur Okonkwo, is already facing a spell on the sidelines.
The extent of Burton’s injury is not yet known but we are likely to hear more from the Wrexham manager post-match and in the coming days.

Wrexham may need to sign Callum Burton replacement in January
With Okonkwo already out and Burton now potentially facing a spell on the sidelines, Howard is the only senior shot-stopper available at present.
Should the former be out for a prolonged period of time, Wrexham may need to dip into the transfer market to replace him.
This would not be the first time the Welsh outfit have done so to strengthen their goalkeeper ranks.
They previously signed former Premier League star Ben Foster to a short-term deal in 2023.
That deal proved to be a stroke of genius as Foster ended up playing a huge role in the club’s promotion to the National League and Wrexham may now need to pull off a similar deal to keep their League One promotion hopes alive.
