One Wrexham star has been deemed as a huge ‘bargain’ after he deservedly picked up an award.
After Wrexham’s promotion to the Championship, Phil Parkinson’s preparations for next season are already underway.
Wrexham have been impeccable this season, but ultimately, decisions will be made with the current crop of players as they prepare for the Championship.
There is still a strong contingent of players within the side that have Premier League and/or Championship experience who will be incredibly useful next season, including one man who has been praised as an absolute ‘bargain’ by Wrexham supporters after he was deservedly named as the Player of the Season for the 2024/25 League One campaign.

Wrexham fans praise ‘unbelievable’ Ollie Rathbone after bargain buy wins Player of the Season
Looking at the Wrexham squad, several players could have been named as the Player of the Season with no complaints from fans, a true testament of just how brilliant they have been this campaign.
Nonetheless, it was in fact handed to star midfielder Ollie Rathbone this season, which was hailed by one fan on social media as ‘the correct decision’.
Reacting to Rathbone’s ‘very well deserved’ award, one fan said: “£375k for this bloke might be the biggest bargain of all time. Unbelievable player.”
Supporters agreed with the above statement about the ‘amazing’ Rathbone, and one fan even decided to take a dig at Rotherham, who sold him to Wrexham, laughing at Millers fans who said they ‘massively overpaid’ for him.

Phil Parkinson should look to build Championship squad around Ollie Rathbone
With preparations very much underway for next season already, Wrexham boss Parkinson must surely be thinking about the foundations he already has in the side, especially with Rathbone as a proven player at that level.
Rathbone has the perfect blend of top-level experience, whilst also still being a decent age, something that ultimately works in his favour when it comes to building for the future.
Rathbone has proven this season to be an incredible player in the centre of the park for Wrexham, having notched eight goals, whilst also showing consistency on the defensive side; ultimately, he is going to be a formidable force in the side next season, and is someone who Parkinson should be building around.
