Wrexham’s League One season came to an end on Saturday afternoon, beating Lincoln City 2-0 away from home.

There we have it; Wrexham’s return to League One is already over.

Last year’s promotion from League Two was a huge moment for Wrexham, capping off back-to-back promotions with a first return to League One since 2005.

This was a moment to savour, but Wrexham’s charge towards the top means this stay in League One is already done and dusted.

Wrexham beat Charlton Athletic 3-0 last weekend, securing second place in League One and subsequent promotion.

Saturday brought another victory as Wrexham defeated Lincoln City 2-0, signing off in style with another away victory.

Dan Scarr message to Wrexham fans

Wrexham’s primary objective had already been achieved, but Phil Parkinson will be delighted with Saturday’s victory.

Lincoln were on top in the first half but Wrexham still dug in and found the three points despite having nothing to play for on the final day.

That just sums up the mentality of this Wrexham squad and defender Dan Scarr has now sent a message to supporters.

Defender Scarr celebrated a great end to the season, noting the clean sheet alongside the victory.

Scarr turned his attention to the Wrexham fans, praising them for their incredible support over the course of another promotion-winning season.

Scarr called this campaign ‘unforgettable’ as he and Wrexham begin to think about life in the Championship next season.

Dan Scarr has given Phil Parkinson something to think about

Wrexham signed Scarr from Plymouth Argyle last summer, adding competition to Parkinson’s defensive options.

A solid centre back who had played at League One and Championship level, Scarr looked to be another fine addition to the Wrexham squad.

Scarr found himself on the fringes for much of the campaign, though, with Eoghan O’Connell keeping his place in Parkinson’s starting XI.

O’Connell picked up a knock against Bristol Rovers on Easter Friday, though, and that meant Scarr went straight into the Wrexham side against Blackpool.

Wrexham fans hailed Scarr for his performance at Bloomfield Road and he kept his place for the final games of the season.

Wrexham conceded just one goal with Scarr back in the starting XI and Parkinson’s decision on O’Connell or Scarr may be a little closer than it was a month ago, as he begins to plan for next season.
