Wrexham supporters have all had their say on who they think should win the Player of the Season award, and they’re all in agreement about one individual.
It’s been an incredible season for Wrexham.
Having secured promotion to League Two at the first time of asking and continued to develop as a club under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, a number of players deserve to lift the Player of the Season trophy.
On-loan Arsenal goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo‘s heroics between the sticks warrant some consideration, as does midfielder Elliot Lee, whose goals in the early part of the campaign carried the Reds without Paul Mullin.
The Liverpudlian has torn the fourth tier to shreds and had he not missed the first eight games through a punctured lung, perhaps would have eclipsed Macaulay Langstaff‘s goal tally of 28.
Mullin has the biggest shout of most to lift the award but he isn’t the player on everyone’s minds.
Wrexham fans believe Andy Cannon should win Player of the Season
Yesterday, Wrexham’s official account uploaded a post on X telling supporters to vote for their Player of the Season.
As usual, this sparked a widespread debate as supporters revealed who they want to win this prestigious award.
It’s perhaps the most special individual accolade for a player to win as fans tune in to watch the team every week, so to have recognition from them is huge.
While Mullin, Lee and youngster Max Cleworth received some love, many were in agreement that midfielder Andy Cannon should win it.
One supporter said: Andy Cannon & Carra Jones – although it’s perfectly acceptable to vote for the players who score all the time, that makes sense. Another chipped in: Went for Cannon for POTS, and then I think it’s boring going for a loan player as YPOTS so went Cleworth

Wrexham’s executive director Humphrey Ker raved about Cannon’s recent form, labelling him “sensational”.
The 28-year-old has backed up that praise by scoring four goals in his last seven matches, including two assists.
Parkinson has given Wrexham’s midfield machine the freedom to roam forward, knowing there’s the protection of George Evans and the three centre-backs.
As a result, we’re currently seeing the best of Cannon as an attacking force, whereas at his previous clubs, the Englishman was deployed as a deep-lying midfielder.
The former Portsmouth star has shown relentless consistency, particularly in the run-in, which warrants all the love and praise from his supporters.
He’s one of many players in the Wrexham squad who is a cut above League Two having played most of his football in the third tier, a level he’ll return to next season.
