Wrexham fans have been left impressed by one player after the club’s first outing of the summer.
Wrexham faced Melbourne Victory in a pre-season friendly on July 11, coming away with a 3-0 win.
Ryan Hardie scored his first goal for the club after his move from Plymouth Argyle, being set up by Ryan Barnett.
Elsewhere, the Australian media have praised Wrexham for their performance at the Marvel Stadium.
But it was no Hardie, nor fellow goalscorers George Evans and Tom O’Connor, that caught the eye of fans during the 90 minutes.

Wrexham fans praise Harry Ashfield for Melbourne Victory display
Harry Ashfield came off the bench in the second half, featuring in an advanced role alongside Hardie.
The academy product left fans impressed, with several calling for him to be handed more playing time in 2025/26.
One fan wrote: Others have probably said it too, but Harry Ashfield has the potential to be a really great player for us. Makes such intelligent runs and passes for a 19-year-old, and you can see he’s got ‘it’. With 9 subs this season, I really hope he gets his chance in the Wrexham squad.”
A second replied: “He is very, very impressive. Hope we will see more of him this season.”
“Hopefully gets some games, I think he will be better getting experience here than going out on loan somewhere, Flynn used to do it, kept players in house until ready,” another wrote.
A fourth fan tweeted: “Agree. He was class in that game.
While a fifth stated: “He needs games. The lad has so much potential. That pass he played the second half. Backward pass to an inside run from the underlap. Not many seasoned pros could play that one.”

Will Harry Ashfield play for Wrexham in 2025/26
Ashfield has made a total of six senior appearances for Wrexham, including five in 2024/25 when he scored his first goal.
But all of them came in the EFL Trophy, with one fan pointing out there was ‘too much at stake’ for the 19-year-old to play in League One last term.
And while there is still a chance he stays this summer, given Wrexham are now competing in the Championship, they probably can’t afford to offer a largely unproven talent much, if any, game time in the second tier, especially if they are fighting relegation.
A loan move is probably the best option this summer, especially now that the club does not compete in the EFL Trophy anymore.
He may still get chances in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, but Ashfield is at a key stage in his development and needs to play regularly, which he probably won’t do at Wrexham.
