Wrexham fans rejoiced at seeing Paul Mullin return to action over the weekend following a serious injury. He came on as a substitute in the second half and was met with a hero’s welcome.
Wrexham’s pre-season preparations were massively hampered when star striker Paul Mullin punctured a lung in a collision with Manchester United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop in the US.
It was a bitter blow to manager Phil Parkinson‘s plans. Mullin was instrumental in the Red Dragons getting promoted from the National League last season. He finished the season as both the club and the league’s top goalscorer and Player of the Season with 38 goals in the league and nine in the FA Cup.

Mullin features in first game of the season vs. Doncaster
The club had endured a difficult start to life in League Two, but things look to have turned around now that Mullin is back in action.
Against Doncaster Rovers at the weekend, the prolific striker came on around the hour mark to rapturous applause from the home faithful.
The Red were able to seal a vital 2-1 victory, and after the game, Mullin headed over to celebrate by punching the air three times.
Wrexham’s official Twitter handle shared the footage online and it was incredible to see.
Fans rejoice at seeing Mullin back in action
Needless to say, fans were over the moon to see their talisman back on the pitch doing what he does best.
‘I could watch this on repeat for hours,’ one person replied to the video.
‘Welcome back, King,’ said another.
‘So glad to see Paul Mullin back on the pitch!’ a third commented.
In fact, social media was awash with comments welcoming him back.
It was a fantastic day for the club in general, as the victory saw the Reds move up to seventh in League Two. Goals from Luke Young and Elliot Lee secured the win.
That’s now Wrexham’s third successive win in all competitions, two on the bounce in the league. They’re also only three points off the top of the league.
With Mullin back, things are certainly looking up.
