The Red Dragons began the weekend’s action sat two points clear of second-place Wycombe Wanderers.
But after Wycombe dropped points vs Leyton Orient earlier in the day, Wrexham knew a win at the Racecourse Ground would confirm promotion.

It would have been a historic win for Phil Parkinson’s side and when all was said and done, Wrexham beat Charlton to book a place in the Championship for the first time since it was rebranded.

It means that Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have now overseen a record three promotions in a row since taking over as Wrexham owners.
