A Wrexham spokesperson has spoken about one concern ahead of the 2025/26 Championship season regarding season tickets and the Racecourse Ground.

Wrexham are preparing for the 2025/26 Championship season, where they will compete in the second tier for the first time since the 1981/82 campaign.

The sudden rise of the club has been extravagant since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over at Wrexham, with Phil Parkinson’s side notching three successive promotions.

As a result, the club’s stature and profile have soared, leading to not just extra eyes on the club worldwide, but more demand locally in Wrexham.

As a result, new Wrexham fans have struggled to get their hands on season tickets, and the latest spokesperson statement suggests that it is set to continue.

Wrexham spokesperson issues response to one concern regarding season tickets

With the ongoing Kop developments, Wrexham will be without their temporary stand for the 2025/26 season as they look to erect a new stand at the end of the Racecourse Ground.

The Kop was unusable when Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over at the club, leading to the club prioritising an upgrade of the stadium.

That, alongside the added exposure on Wrexham, has left new fans unable to purchase season tickets for the last three seasons, and it is expected that it will continue.

In a recent statement issued by a club spokesperson, it read: “Due to the incredibly high ticket demand and the large number of season-ticket holders we have, we have been unable to sell new season tickets for three years.

“Furthermore, and especially so this season with the Kop Development, the demand for match-day tickets far outstrips the number available.”

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney will struggle to keep up with fan demands

When both Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over at Wrexham, it was never expected to take off the way it has. The success in guiding through the divisions has gone hand in hand with the brilliance off the pitch.

Unfortunately, the Racecourse Ground is somewhat behind the stature and support that the club holds, leaving the Wrexham owners in a difficult situation.

Whilst there is no short-term way to solve the demand, Reynolds and McElhenney will need to follow up their Kop developments by looking at other areas of the Racecourse Ground to further increase its capacity, as will be needed as Wrexham continue to grow as a club.
