Kieffer Moore has been a fine addition to the Wrexham squad and has already started to repay the money spent on him with goals.

The Welsh international has already registered four goals in his nine opening games of the Championship campaign this season, demonstrating the masterstroke of Phil Parkinson to bring him to the club.

Craig Bellamy selected two Wrexham stars for Wales in the upcoming international break when they will face England and Belgium, with Kieffer Moore being one of them and the other being Nathan Broadhead.

While Moore was clearly brought in to add goals to Wrexham, he is currently topping the defensive charts in the Championship for one unique statistic.

Kieffer Moore is top of the aerial duels won stat across the Championship

According to Opta, Kieffer Moore has won the most aerial duels in the Championship this season, with the striker winning 71 of the 105 he has entered.

This is usually a stat topped by defenders due to their physical dominance at set pieces and when dealing with long balls forward; however, Moore is just as domineering as any centre-back in the division, as demonstrated by this stat, with him winning 67.6% of duels.

It demonstrates perfectly the style of play the Welsh side are willing to adopt, knowing they have the Welsh international up front, as he can win a duel and hold the ball up to bring other players into play.

He has allowed them to alter their attacking approaches, making them hard to prepare for defensively, and this may help explain why they have scored in every fixture this season.

Moore has been a sensation for Wrexham in front of goal too, as he has scored four league goals, more than the ex-Red Dragons star Paul Mullin, who has three.

Phil Parkinson foretold the impact Kieffer Moore would have at Wrexham

Wrexham spent £33 million in the summer transfer window to bring 13 new players to the Racecourse Ground, with Kieffer Moore being one of them.

It was a signing that Phil Parkinson seemed desperate to get across the line, as he explained after signing him, as reported by The Leader.

He said: “Kieffer is someone we looked at in the early part of the summer, but some deals take a while.

“I just feel he gives us something different, a different option at the top of the pitch.

“I am pleased Kieffer has come on board; there is a nice story there with the Welsh connection.

“I really like his character; he plays with great honesty, and I am looking forward to getting to know him.

“He has been part of successful teams, and he knows his way around the Championship.

“What we like about him is he is a good team player, and we are going to need options.”
