Wrexham will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they face Shrewsbury Town.
The Red Dragons have been in fine form during the early stages of the 2024/25 campaign.
Wrexham beat Wycombe Wanderers 3-2 to kick off their first season in League One before drawing with Bolton Wanderers away from the Racecourse Ground.
Phil Parkinson and his team then secured a 3-0 win over Reading before beating Peterborough United 2-0.
Wrexham now face Shrewsbury Town at home in a 3pm kick-off on Saturday, September 7th.
The Welsh outfit go into the weekend’s action only behind first place via goal difference while Shrewsbury are down in 20th place after just one win in four.
Wrexham team news ahead of Reading
Paul Mullin underwent surgery over the summer and was sidelined for Wrexham’s meetings with Wycombe, Sheffield United and Bolton.
Parkins provided an update on Mullin last month, as per BBC Sport, and called him ‘great’.
He has since returned off the bench against Reading for 16 minutes before getting another 21 minutes of action under his belt on Saturday afternoon.
On a less positive note, Jacob Mendy is still working his way back to fitness after undergoing hamstring surgery and is not expected to play any part versus Shrewsbury.
Outside of the left-back, however, Parkinson has a fully-fit squad to pick from on September 7th.
Wrexham predicted XI vs Shrewsbury Town
After featuring as a sub in Wrexham’s last two outings, star striker Mullin is expected to be handed his first start for the club this season.
The forward has previously formed a great relationship with Ollie Palmer up front, meaning Jack Marriott will likely drop out of the eleven for Mullin on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Wrexham’s backline is expected to remain unchanged, with James McClean keeping his starting berth at left-back amid Mendy’s continued absence.
Midfield should look pretty similar as well, with Elliott Lee, George Dobson and Andy Cannon all keeping their places.
