Wrexham are facing a busy schedule right now but will now have the upcoming international break off later this month.

October is upon us and Wrexham are facing a busy week.

Phil Parkinson took his side to Leyton Orient on Saturday, making a long journey to East London.

Wrexham picked up a point in a 0-0 draw but have racked up the miles once again having travelled to face Stevenage on Tuesday night.

Parkinson made the decision to return home after Saturday’s game rather than stay in the south and face day after day in a hotel.

After three away games in four, Wrexham will be back at the STōK Cae Ras once again this weekend, facing Northampton Town.

EFL make Wrexham v Lincoln City decision

Fans had been anticipating another home game on the 12th of October as Wrexham were scheduled to host Lincoln City.

That date falls in the latest international break and was in danger of being postponed as a result.

Yet having fulfilled the home game against Shrewsbury Town in the last international break, Wrexham fans were left a little in the dark over the Lincoln clash.

A decision has now been confirmed though with Wrexham announcing that the game has indeed been called off.

Lincoln have received enough international call-ups to request for the game to be postponed.

The EFL have now ‘approved’ Lincoln’s request and the game will now be rescheduled down the line.

It’s unclear just how Lincoln are missing but Dylan Duffy and Sean Roughan have been in the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad in 2024.

JJ McKiernan was called up by the Northern Ireland Under-21’s in the last international break whilst striker Bailey Cadamarteri is involved in the England Under-20 setup.

Tendayi Darikwa and Reeco Hackett have previously been capped by Zimbabwe and St Lucia respectively whilst Erik Ring is still eligible for Sweden’s Under-21’s.

Wrexham call-up potential

Lincoln will seemingly be without a handful of players but Wrexham may yet be hit by call-ups too.

Jacob Mendy is working his way back to fitness and could be back in the frame for The Gambia as they face Madagascar twice in a matter of days.

Mo Faal qualifies for The Gambia too whilst new signing Josh Adam will be under consideration for Scotland’s Under-21’s.

Arthur Okonkwo has held talks over representing Nigeria but it would be a surprise to see him included in their squad with no switch confirmed yet.

That is a lot of maybes on the Wrexham side whereas Lincoln seemingly have a number of players lined up for international duty, hence the postponement.
