Wrexham have confirmed another addition to Phil Parkinson’s squad – more than a week since the transfer window officially closed.

Wrexham ended the transfer window with a flourish.

A busy summer was capped off with the signing of Modou Faal, landing the striker from West Bromwich Albion on deadline day.

That brought Wrexham’s total summer business to eight incomings and around £2million in fees.

Arthur Okonkwo, George Dobson and Callum Burton arrived on free transfers whilst fees were paid for the likes of Lewis Brunt, Sebastian Revan, Ollie Rathbone, Dan Scarr and Faal.

Wrexham enjoyed a strong window but Phil Parkinson has still found room for one more new arrival to his Wrexham squad.

Josh Adam to Wrexham deal done

Wrexham fans were almost expecting transfer deadline day to be a double-signing day.

Faal’s move was confirmed early in the morning but Josh Adam was a name on the lips of many supporters.

Free agent midfielder Adam had been spotted in Wrexham training ahead of deadline day.

No deal was done though and fans were left with questions about whether Adam would be arriving or not.

Phil Parkinson was asked about Adam over the weekend and suggested that he was a player Wrexham would like to keep.

Reports on Tuesday suggested that Adam would be joining Wrexham on a two-year deal this week.

Wrexham have now confirmed Adam’s arrival, but the terms of his contract are slightly different to the reports.

Adam has signed a one-year deal with the option of a second if he impresses at Wrexham this season.

The 20-year-old is one for the future but Parkinson will look to develop him now his deal has been finalised.

Adam reacts to Wrexham move

Midfielder Adam was a hot prospect at Celtic before joining the Manchester City ranks in 2020.

The Scot featured prominently in the Under-18 Premier League and Premier League 2 before leaving City this past summer.

Now a confirmed Wrexham player, Adam has offered his reaction to the move.

Adam has told Wrexham’s official website that it’s ‘really exciting’ to have joined Wrexham.

Adam noted that training has been ‘tough’ of late but praised the ‘brilliant’ Wrexham players who appear to have welcomed him with open arms.

The midfielder added that he is a ‘very technical player’, suggesting that he could be the kind of player to make a real impact in the final third.

“It’s really exciting to get it over the line. I’m excited to get started and get going,” said Adam. “They have been tough sessions while I’ve been here on trial – the gaffer’s had us working hard – but the boys have all been brilliant and I’ve got to know a lot of them.

“I’d say I’m a very technical player, I like to get on the ball a lot and make things happen. I’ve had some of the best coaches and best team-mates at academy level, they’ve helped me to grow a lot and it’s challenged me, and now the next step is to get into the men’s game,” he added.

Adam will hope to push for first-team action this season but Wrexham will have long-term plans for him having secured his signature outside of the transfer window.
