Wrexham have announced they have agreed a new deal with one of their younger talents to extend his stay at the Racecourse.

The Red Dragons’ preparations for the League One campaign are well underway with Wrexham being active in the transfer window and securing the futures of some of their key players.

Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have secured summer signings of goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo and snapped up Leicester City defender Lewis Brunt.

The club are starting to plan for the future with Max Cleworth the latest player to secure his future at the club.

Cleworth, 21, has agreed a deal until 2027 to extend his stay in North Wales. The club have several first-team players with contracts set to expire in 2025.

Ollie Palmer

Club record signing Ollie Palmer’s contract is set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season. The English forward has been an ever-present figure in the Wrexham side since he joined in 2022.

The towering six-foot-five striker has provided excellent service in a strike partnership with Paul Mullin during their time together in North Wales.

The 32-year-old has made 105 appearances for the club scoring 39 goals.

Suppose Palmer can adapt to the quality level in League One and continue his goal contributions in a Wrexham shirt next season. Parkinson may look to offer him a contract extension to keep him at the club.

Tom O’Connor

Tom O’Connor has been a solid signing for Parkinson offering great versatility with his abilities of playing holding midfield or being able to play in a back three.

The Irishman has very good technical skills and can bring the ball out of defence.

The former Burton Albion star has been important to Wrexham’s back-to-back promotions and will be a strong option for the manager.

With O’Connor only being 25 years old, he has longevity and could prove to be an important member of the long-term project at the Racecourse.

Andy Cannon

Andy Cannon emerged as one of the key members of Parkinson’s side last year. The former Hull City midfielder showed his goal-scoring abilities with six goals in League Two.

Goals from midfield will be an important factor when it comes to stepping up to the level required in League One next season.

The Red Dragons star has experience of playing at higher levels including the Championship. The English midfielder has hit his prime years with the 28-year-old featuring 58 times for Wrexham with 14 goal contributions in North Wales.

Cannon provides a good box-to-box option in midfield and fits Parkinson’s tactical set-up. If Cannon can continue his form into the coming campaign, the former Portsmouth man could be offered a new deal at the Racecourse.
