Wrexham were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Bristol Rovers.
The result leaves the Red Dragons trailing Wycombe by a point in the League One table and promotion is now out of their hands after the Racecourse Ground stalemate.
Wrexham fans were furious with Jay Rodriguez as he underwhelmed again with his performance and it was only thanks to a brilliant strike from Matty James that the home side didn’t lose the match.
Eoghan O’Connell was taken off at half time with an injury to make matters worse for Wrexham and it could lead to their promotion hopes being further damaged.

Eoghan O’Connell injury huge blow to Phil Parkinson
Phil Parkinson will be furious with his side’s inability to claims three points but will also be worried about the extent of the injury caused to his captain on the day O’Connell.
O’Connell praised Wrexham’s experience in recent comments but he is a huge part of that ‘experienced’ group and has lead from the front since a dip in form at the turn of the year.
He has made 42 appearances for the club this season across all competitions and could now miss crucial clashes with Blackpool and Charlton.
Parkinson did not reveal the extent of O’Connell’s injury when speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel but fingers will be crossed for a speedy recovery.
Eoghan O’Connell’s potential replacements
Should O’Connell miss the match against Blackpool or even further games from now until the end of the season, it would be a huge blow to the club.
The Irish defender has been colossal in recent months and Humphrey Ker’s Wrexham player of the season, after leading the back line with such determination and aggression.

Scarr replaced O’Connell for the second half against Bristol Rovers and would be the likely candidate in the centre of the back three.
However, Parkinson also has the option of moving Lewis Brunt into the centre and playing Thomas O’Connor on the left of the back three should he choose to go a different route.
