Ahead of Wrexham’s clash with QPR, Phil Parkinson will no doubt be keen to replicate what Frank Lampard and Coventry City managed against them.
Wrexham welcome QPR to the Racecourse Ground, where Phil Parkinson’s side will hope to notch a second successive Championship win.
There is every reason to be optimistic ahead of the clash, with Wrexham beating Millwall last time out at The Den, and the return of a number of players from injury will further bolster Parkinson’s side.
Wrexham’s Conor Coady has previewed the game, discussing why the Red Dragons could be hampered by the international break, but they will be keen to pick up where they last left off.
During Parkinson’s preparations for the contest, he will have been fully aware of QPR’s difficulties they faced on the road against Coventry City, with Frank Lampard already making it clear what is needed to quash the R’s.

Frank Lampard emphasises the need to be clinical against QPR
Similarly to Wrexham, QPR have faced challenges in the 2025/26 Championship season so far, especially in the defeat to Coventry City.
QPR fell to a significant 7-1 defeat at the CBS Arena, which saw Frank Lampard’s Coventry City run rampant.
Phil Parkinson will have focused on this tired display from QPR to sound out their weaknesses ahead of Wrexham’s contest with them this weekend.
He will have been made aware of the need to be clinical against QPR, as Lampard outlines in his post-match press conference.
“It had every facet of our game that we talk about, that we work on, everything on the mentality side of it, how at it we were – you could feel the energy on the pitch,” said Lampard, via The Mirror, when discussing how his side beat QPR.
“It was an outstanding performance, topped off by the quality at the top end of the pitch. I think there was a massive positive feeling for everybody this morning.”
QPR boss Julien Stephan was left stunned by the performance, having said: “I think they shoot eight times on the target and they scored seven times, so I have never seen that in my career.
“But we have to just deal with the situation now – it’s finished, it’s over and we can’t change anything. It’s very hard to explain (the performance) and I don’t think it’s the best moment to explain and analyse the situation of the game.
“But this is a moment to say that I want to apologise to our fans for the result and for the performance. It was an unacceptable performance.”

Phil Parkinson will need Kieffer Moore to continue his fine form
Quality at the top end will be crucial for Wrexham, and Phil Parkinson will likely turn to the capable Kieffer Moore to provide a goalscoring threat.
So far this season, Moore has already bagged three in four games, scoring 42% of Wrexham’s Championship goals.
It is already clear that Moore is pivotal for any success that Wrexham will notch this season, and if he is on top form against QPR, then the Red Dragons could see similar success to Frank Lampard’s Coventry City.
Moore has already won the plaudits of Wrexham fans at this early stage of the season, and there is no surprise as Parkinson has the assurance of a proven goalscorer at Championship level.
