Wrexham completed their sixth addition of the window on Friday but Phil Parkinson remains keen on landing a young striker.
Wrexham wrapped up a deal for Plymouth Argyle’s towering centre-back Dan Scarr, who arrived at the Racecourse Ground on a three-year deal.
Scarr is one of several defensive signings this summer, following the likes of Sebastian Revan, Lewis Brunt and George Dobson while goalkeepers Arthur Okonkwo and Callum Burton have also been added to the squad.
Phil Parkinson has built from the back this window but now he’s tightened his back line, he intends on recruiting in forward areas.
Parkinson wants to add more quality to his squad, particularly in the attacking third, resulting in links to three young strikers; Tottenham’s Will Lankshear, Sheffield Wednesday’s Bailey Cadamarteri and Fulham’s Kieron Bowie.
All three offer qualities that will be helpful in League One, including their ability to run in behind and stretch defences but there is one player who should take priority.

Why Wrexham should sign Bowie over Lankshear and Cadamarteri
Paul Mullin is close to completing his comeback and the 29-year-old will resume first-team training on Thursday.
The Wrexham goal machine is one of the first names on the team sheet for Parkinson and that isn’t a surprise given he’s plundered 105 goals in three campaigns.
However, the Liverpudlian does need someone to challenge him for a spot in the starting XI. Jack Marriott has shown in pre-season that he could be a handy weapon to unleash in the third tier but Parkinson wants more.
He wants to sign a youngster on loan, who can learn from the likes of Mullin, Steven Fletcher and Ollie Palmer while continuing their development.
Ideally, the player who arrives will be capable of firing a regular source of goals in League One. Whilst Lankshear has been a goal machine for Spurs in the youth setup and Cadamarteri has shown glimpses of his talent in the Championship, neither can match what Bowie would bring to Wrexham.
The 21-year-old has spent the last two campaigns on loan at Northampton Town in the third tier and last term, he produced nine goals and six assists for the Cobblers.
Hailed for his ‘high quality’ by manager Jon Brady, the young Fulham striker would take no time to settle in at Wrexham having showcased his goal-scoring talent at senior level, unlike Lankshear.
Bowie could partner Paul Mullin at Wrexham
Parkinson has partnered Mullin next to a physically imposing striker, with Fletcher and Palmer sharing the bulk of the minutes.
By signing Bowie – who stands at 6 foot 1 – the Scotland under-21 international could be the perfect partner for Mullin.
The Wrexham talisman thrives when his partner does the unselfish work; winning aerial duels, holding up play and bullying defenders.
Bowie has shown that despite his age, he can handle himself physically in League One and offers the guarantee of scoring goals at this level.
With Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds hoping Wrexham challenge for promotion, signing the Fulham hotshot could help them achieve that aim.
