Since the Hollywood takeover, Wrexham has seen many experienced senior players arrive at the Racecourse in their project to rise up the Football League.
There have been many big-name EFL players arriving at Wrexham. Players like Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer, and Elliot Lee have played a big part in back-to-back promotions to League One.
In recent transfer windows, the Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have shown the Red Dragons’ strength in bringing in senior players with a depth of experience in higher leagues to the Racecourse.
The 2023 summer arrivals of former Premier League stars James McClean and Steven Fletcher epitomised the club’s transfer strategy in recent years.
However, the strategy may change with a focus on more youthful talents to lead the Wrexham project into the next chapter.

Wrexham target young talents to build around
Wrexham have already secured former Arsenal goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo to a three-year deal at the Racecourse.
The Red Dragons have continued to strengthen the squad by snapping up former Leicester City defender Lewis Brunt.
Both signings are relatively young with Okonkwo, 22, and the former Mansfield Town defender being 23 years old.
League One poses the biggest challenge thus far for Phil Parkinson’s side, but, like any successful club, a plan for the next few years will be implemented.
There seems to be a shift to younger targets that can be the foundation for the next few years where Wrexham want to take the next step in their rise through the EFL.
Younger talents give the manager time to mould the squad around them so that they can inherit the cultural standards at the club.
However, there is a need for experienced senior players in the dressing room.

A balanced age profile at Wrexham is the best way forward
If the club continue to target talents that can provide quality in the short term but offer greater potential in the future, Wrexham will be building a strong core for the next chapter of its Hollywood journey.
However, it is important to acknowledge the importance of having a variety of ages and experiences in the dressing room.
Key players like Mullin, Fletcher and McClean can offer vital advice to the younger talents in the squad.
Parkinson will know that strength in depth is needed and if he can build a squad with a balanced age profile it provides the club with a strong platform to compete at a higher level.
If Wrexham can strike a good squad balance this summer, in terms of age and quality, and depth in all positions, they could enjoy a promising 2024/25 season in League One.
