Wrexham have been busy this summer with new arrivals at the Racecourse creating competition for places in the starting XI.
Heading into this summer transfer window Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson was keen to add strength in depth to his squad.
The expected step-up in quality in League One will be a tough test for the Red Dragons and the former Sunderland boss will be hoping that new reinforcements creating competition for places will drive up the desire and standards of his side.
In early July, the club announced they had completed the signing of free agent George Dobson.
With the club landing the 26-year-old, it brings a wealth of League One experience with over 250 games under his belt.
The former Charlton Athletic captain likes to be a leader on the pitch and will be in contention to be one of Parkinson’s key players in his new-look side.
Wrexham’s latest signing has been added to an infated midfield leaving the current midfielders needing to fight for their place this season.

Wrexham star Andy Cannon to fight for his place after George Dobson signing
After Dobson’s arrival at the Racecourse, Andy Cannon may have to fight for his starting role in the side.
Cannon was a key player in the midfield three last season providing five goals for the Red Dragons. He will be determined that his skill and attacking ability can provide something different than the other options in midfield.
However, Elliot Lee is the biggest attacking threat in midfield and the manager may feel he would like to have a more defensively solid pair behind him.
George Evans, who recently signed a new contract, partnering with Dobson in midfield could become a solid pivot.
The double pivot would allow the former West Ham United man more freedom and a license to concentrate on the attacking play.
Cannon, 28, is an efficient number eight who can provide a box-to-box profile but it will depend on the opponents and what the manager’s vision for the team is heading into the League One campaign.

Cannon and Dobson would be a good Wrexham foundation
Both midfield players have strong EFL experience with Cannon having spent time in the Championship with Hull City.
The players are different in playing style and could offer a strong midfield foundation for Parkinson to build around this season.
Providing goals in midfield will be important and the former Hull City midfielder will look to improve on his five-goal tally last campaign.
With the club bringing in quality signings the current squad may improve their standards on the pitch. It could be an exciting dynamic for Wrexham fans to see the former Portsmouth midfielder play alongside the defensive and tenacious new signing.
The former Sunderland midfielder certainly brings competition for places in midfield.
Still, Cannon will be hoping he has done enough under Parkinson to convince the former Bradford City coach he should be in the starting midfield three come the start of the season.
