Wrexham can take a huge step towards Championship football with a win over Burton Albion at the Racecourse Ground.
Phil Parkinson’s side currently sit three points clear of second place Wycombe in the final automatic promotion spot in League One and harbour hopes of extending that lead.
Parkinson received an apology from the EFL following the 2-2 draw away at Cambridge where a contentious penalty was given against defender Lewis Brunt.
The club may already have one eye on next season and preparing for the step up as Wrexham show interest in Tom Lawrence at Rangers.
There is no doubt the Wrexham squad would need bolstering should a third historic promotion occur and Parkinson can immediately sign a defender with some impressive moments on his career CV.

Wrexham should sign Harry Toffolo from Nottingham Forest
As per Transfermarkt, Nottingham Forest defender Harry Toffolo is set to become a free agent in the summer with his contract expiring on June 30 2025.
Toffolo has seen his first-team opportunities limited at the City Ground this season having made just five appearances across the season in the Premier League and FA Cup.
The left sided defender however is still only 29 years old with many good years ahead of him, whilst bringing Championship experience to the Red Dragons.
He has made 99 appearances in the Championship with Huddersfield so knows the league well however, as per Salary Sport, his wages of £36k a-week would need to considerable drop for Wrexham to be able to sign him.
Toffolo ‘proud’ to play against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City
Toffolo has something rare on his footballing CV having been part of a side that has taken points off Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Premier League.
As per The Sun, Toffolo was on the pitch back in 2023 when a late Chris Wood equaliser secured Forest a 1-1 draw with Guardiola’s side – a year they became Premier League champions.
Toffolo stated: “After the City game, the manager showed us a five-minute clip of the fans singing. It was a ‘wow moment’ as when you’re on the pitch, you don’t hear or appreciate it because you’re in the zone. I was so proud to come on and help the team draw 1-1 against a world-class team.”

Ryan Longman revealed Wrexham are talking about promotion and if they can make history to become the first side to go up in three successive seasons then signings like Toffolo become all the more realistic.
First up though is getting there and all the focus needs to be on securing three points against Burton Albion at the Racecourse Ground.
