Wrexham are preparing to face Gary Bowyer’s resurgent Burton Albion team at the Racecourse Ground.
Bowyer has guided Burton to two wins in their last three League One outings as they sit three points from safety with a game in hand on Bristol Rovers.
Elliot Lee scored an ‘olympic’ goal in the reverse fixture during a tight 1-0 win for Wrexham and Phil Parkinson can expect another tough encounter against former players Anthony Forde and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.
Thomas O’Connor could replace Lewis Brunt in the Wrexham predicted XI against Burton but Parkinson has kept changes to a minimum recently and Burton boss Bowyer has been full of praise for his counterpart.

Gary Bowyer praises Wrexham’s stability
Speaking to Burton’s official website ahead of the trip to the Racecourse Ground, Bowyer has been full of praise for the stability of Wrexham.
Bowyer stated: “I was thinking about it the other day, those clubs [Leyton Orient, Stockport & Wrexham] have a strong infrastructure, but they also have stability in terms of their manager.
“Dave Challinor, Richie Wellens and Phil Parkinson have all been with their clubs for years, you think that would catch on in terms of stability and allowing managers to develop.
“If you put solid foundations in place and stick with it, then you will see light at the end of the tunnel and where you can get to.”
Parkinson has now managed 202 games for the Red Dragons and been at the club since the summer of 2021, he is looking to make history by guiding his team to three successive promotions.
He has been trusted by owner Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney even through some tricky periods during his first season in the National League
Phil Parkinson will hope to improve Championship record next season
Three points against Bowyer’s Burton side would be a huge step towards Parkinson’s goal of promotion this season.
However, Parkinson has a poor record in the Championship and should he take Wrexham to the next level, he would have to improve upon his previous results in the division.
In 141 matches managed in the division, Parkinson has only achieved 26 wins at an average of 0.82 points per match.
That record would not be enough for the Red Dragons to survive in the Championship but thoughts cannot be on that just yet as more crucial points are required this campaign.
