The landscape of Wrexham has changed drastically over the last few months, which has seen owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac prepare financially for the challenges of the Championship.

Wrexham managed a historic three successive promotions to take them from the National League to the Championship, with the latest achievement sparking plenty of tests for the club.

This summer has seen Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac significantly bolster the Wrexham squad, providing Phil Parkinson with a war chest to splash the cash.

Wrexham market value compared to Birmingham City and Championship rivals

According to Transfermarkt, Wrexham’s squad’s market value has risen by an incredible c338%, going from £11.54m to £50m.

When compared to fellow promoted side Birmingham City, who have also heavily recruited this summer with their American ownership, their increase sits at just 117.8%.

Only 13 Championship clubs, including Wrexham, have seen a market value increase since the end of last year.

The summer of wheeling and dealing from Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac means that Wrexham have the 12th highest market value in the Championship, and while they had a much higher increase percentage compared to the Blues, they still lead the Red Dragons with a value that is £34m more.

Wrexham market value shows Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac ambition

Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac successfully broke the Red Dragons transfer record on several occasions this summer, with the pair showing their true faith in Phil Parkinson in their quest to build on their previous promotions.

The market value increase only further emphasises how much the Wrexham owners have done, not just this summer, but since they acquired the club. Some outsiders may see it as just throwing money at the cause and hoping that it works, but those with a connection to the club know that Rob and Ryan do far more than that.

It has been a rather rocky start to the season for Wrexham, but with the first Championship win under Parkinson’s belt, hopefully the Red Dragons and their new-look squad, as funded by Rob and Ryan, can surprise a few.
