Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac allowed Wrexham to spend a huge amount of money during the 2025 summer transfer window.

Wrexham made three deadline day signings, adding Ben Sheaf, Issa Kabore and Dom Hyam to their squad.

It means that in total, the Dragons ended up with 13 new players joining during the 2025 summer transfer window.

Nathan Broadhead cost £10m, including add-ons, making him their new record signing.

Callum Doyle and Ben Sheaf also arrived for decent fees, taking Wrexham’s spending to nearly £33m before any add-ons are included.

Wrexham’s squad value has increased a great deal with all these new additions.

But a lot of money has been spent to ensure Phil Parkinson has a squad capable of competing in the Championship.

Before this summer, Sam Smith was Wrexham’s record signing, costing £2m from Reading.

The £4.3m spent across two windows in 2024/25 was also the most the Welsh side had ever paid out in one season, yet three players signed this summer cost more than that by themselves.

However, the major increase in spending is not a problem for Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac.

The Athletic reports that the duo view the increase as a price worth paying amid their ongoing battle to reach the Premier League.

Wrexham 2025 summer transfers and fees

Reynolds and Mac want to take Wrexham to the Premier League by 2027.

After just one transfer window, the club stand a much better chance of achieving that goal, but the Championship is one of the most competitive leagues in the world.
