Sam Smith has made an instant impact since signing for Wrexham in late January.
Wrexham were searching for a new number nine for much of the 2025 winter transfer window before eventually landing Sam Smith.
The striker, along with former Burnley ace Jay Rodriguez, arrived at the Racecourse Ground on January 31st.
Wrexham fans were pleased with Smith after he was handed his first start for them in a 2-1 win over Crawley Town.
The 26-year-old then featured off the bench against Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Trophy before starting a league clash against Northampton Town on Saturday.
Smith scored his first Wrexham goal against Northampton, taking his League One tally up to 12 for the season.

Sam Smith comments highlight his genius
None of Phil Parkinson’s other strikers come anywhere close to matching that tally in the league this term – Steven Fletcher is the closest on six.
Given a lack of goals was Wrexham’s main downfall in the first half of 2024/25, signing someone with Smith’s record in the division was always going to be good.
But recent comments made by the number nine, as per Leader Live, highlight just how smart he really is.
When discussing what he instructed Mark Howard to do before he scored his first goal for the Red Dragons, Smith said: “I have a few times.
“I always chat to him and say if you catch it in your hands, I’m always looking to get in behind early because defenders aren’t prepared for it.
“It’s something that I like doing and I know it can be a threat. I spoke to the goalkeeper and it worked.”

Sam Smith on Wrexham fans
The Northampton meeting, as well as the win over Crawley, both took place away from the Racecourse.
However, Wrexham face Leyton Orient on Tuesday evening and as they are on home soil, Smith is expected to get his first start in front of the home supporters.
The centre-forward has already given his verdict on the Welsh side’s fans, who he thinks are ‘incredible’.
He said: “The fans was incredible at Northampton. They filled both the end and the side.
“They sang all game and away from home, it is so important to have such a good fanbase.
“I’m excited to see a full stadium on Tuesday. I played there in the EFL Trophy last week and I am really excited against Orient.”
