Phil Parkinson has successfully navigated the transfer window at Wrexham but more deals are in the pipeline this summer.
Following successive promotions to League One, Wrexham knew they needed to overhaul their squad and that is exactly what Phil Parkinson has done.
The Englishman released nine first-team players, including Luke Young and Ben Tozer, while so far bringing in five who will improve his squad.
Wrexham have captured goalkeepers Arthur Okonkwo and Callum Burton, defenders Lewis Brunt and Sebastian Revan and midfielder George Dobson.
But Parkinson still isn’t satisfied with his squad and ahead of their curtain-raiser against Wycombe Wanderers, the 56-year-old is craving more.

With most of the players who have arrived a the club, there has been a recurring theme, and that is their familiarity with some of their teammates.
While Dobson has previously played with the likes of Elliot Lee and Eoghan O’Connell, Brunt knows fellow defender Revan from their time together in the Aston Villa academy.
Okonkwo, meanwhile, was of course on loan at the Racecourse Ground last term, so he’s required no time to adjust to his surroundings.
That perhaps explains why the new signings have ‘fitted in well’, according to Parkinson, although he has accepted that the ‘squad is not there yet’ and more recruits are needed.
Speaking to The Leader, Parkinson said: “Arthur was with us on loan last season and knew us anyway but the new signings have fitted in well with the group,” said the Reds’ boss.
“There is nothing better when you are a new signing to get to know your teammates on a tour like this.
“The squad is not there yet but hopefully we are getting there.”
Where Wrexham still need to strengthen
It’s been a productive transfer window, which has seen Parkinson address depth in the goalkeeper position and central defence following the arrivals of Okonkwo, Burton, Revan and Brunt.
However, the main position of concern for the Wrexham boss will be at striker, as while there are plenty of options at his disposal, there are question marks over their credentials.
Strikers such as Billy Waters, Sam Dalby and Jake Bickerstaff are perhaps not good enough for the third tier, while the likes of Steven Fletcher and Ollie Palmer are ageing, leaving just Paul Mullin and Jack Marriott as long-term options.
Parkinson does need to sign a proven goalscorer at this level and that explains links to Luton striker John McAtee, who scored 15 goals for Barnsley in 2023/24.
Although he’s signed Dobson as a defensive-minded midfielder, the Reds do also need someone else to play that central attacking role and rotate with Lee when needed.
Lee had to play almost every game last term and as a result, suffered from tiredness and fatigue, an issue that would be alleviated by signing someone of a similar profile.
