Wrexham are starting to build momentum following back to back wins over Crawley Town and Port Vale.
Wrexham advanced to the quarter final of the EFL Trophy with a crushing 4-1 victory over Port Vale, Harry Ashfield was among the scorers with his first professional goal for the club.
Ryan Longman impressed on his first start for Wrexham and fans also noticed an improvement in Modou Faal’s overall game.
One player that has been instrumental in both of Phil Parkinson’s recent wins is Elliot Lee and after having struggled in a stint up front, Lee is now showing his manager where he needs to be playing his football.

Elliot Lee excelling in deeper midfield role
Elliot Lee is determined to win the EFL Trophy for Wrexham and that desire was on display against Port Vale as he produced a magnificent performance capped off with a goal.
The 30-year-old scored his eighth goal of the season with a great finishing arriving late into the box from a Longman cross, an exact replica of his winning goal against Crawley Town in the last League One match.
Parkinson praised Lee for his decisive moment against Crawley and now has a decision to make ahead of the rest of the campaign as to whether he continues to start him in a deeper midfield role.
The current midfield trio of Matty James, Ollie Rathbone and George Dobson is hard-working but lacks a player that can consistently find defence-splitting passes and moments of magic in the final third – Lee has proven he can provide that.
Phil Parkinson give selection dilemmas following win over Port Vale
Lee’s performances from midfield is not the only dilemma for Parkinson to ponder ahead of the next League One clash with Northampton.
New signing Longman was superb from the right hand side and has provided three assists since arriving at the Red Dragons. Ryan Barnett has also excelled this season in that position whilst James McClean looked jaded against Crawley Town.

There is also the decision as to which combination gets the nod in the frontline, new signings Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez started against Crawley but Paul Mullin should recover from injury in time for the next match.
Wrexham boss Parkinson will now need to decide upon his best XI for the remainder of the campaign but after an excellent January transfer window, the manager certainly has a number of options at his disposal.
