Wrexham take on Port Vale tonight in the EFL Trophy, but some have suggested the Red Dragons would be better off losing the game.
Phil Parkinson leads his men into the third round of the EFL Trophy with an away day against League Two outfit Port Vale, and Wrexham go into the game on the back of a thrilling win over Crawley Town at the weekend.
We’re waiting to see what surprises Parkinson has in store for us when it comes to his team selection, with a number of players pushing for game time.
But, will the Wrexham manager rotate heavily and take it easy for the visit to Port Vale? That’s hardly likely, and Elliot Lee has rubbished the idea.

Elliot Lee demands EFL Trophy win, with Wembley the target
Speaking to The Leader, the playmaker discussed the mentality going into tonight’s game, and insisted that every player in the Wrexham squad is ready and raring to go out and get another important win.
He said: “The mentality fed down from the gaffer and everywhere at the club is we want to win every game so it will be a strong team whatever team he puts out there.
“We’re all looking forward to it and if there’s a chance to play at Wembley and win some silverware at the end of it, who’s going to turn that down?”
Parkinson has big decisions to make when it comes to the Wrexham lineup vs Port Vale, but Lee believes the Red Dragons have what it takes to get through the tie regardless of who gets the nod.
“We’ve got a strong squad so all the lads are chomping at the bit to play,” he added. “That’s another chance for the lads to prove how good they are and hopefully get another win.”

Maybe Wrexham would be better off focusing on the league?
OK, obviously Wrexham want to win this game against Port Vale, and there’s absolutely no way any of the players or Phil Parkinson would dream of taking their foot off the gas tonight.
But, with Wrexham still pushing for promotion in League One as we head into the final 17 games of the season, surely the top priority is the goal of making it to the Championship.
February will be a tough month for Wrexham as it is, with plenty of games coming at them, all of them being away from the Racecourse Ground.
Meanwhile, the EFL Trophy quarter-final ties are taking place this week, and if Wrexham do win against Port Vale, they will have to squeeze in their own quarter-final clash with Bolton at some point, too.
Winning is important for any team, and Wrexham will give it their all to make it to the last eight of course. But, if they were to suffer a surprise defeat against Port Vale, Wrexham fans would surely not lament the cup exit for long.
