Wrexham could now have a chance to sign a great Elliot Lee rival for absolutely nothing this month.
Elliot Lee continues to excel at the Racecourse Ground following his transfer from Luton Town in 2022.
The woes of Wrexham’s strikers this term mean Phil Parkinson has played the attacking midfielder out of position several times already in 2024/25.
Lee has been deployed up front, generally alongside Ollie Palmer and most recently Steven Fletcher, dropping just behind his partner to create a 3-5-1-1 system.
His finishing is nothing to write home about but six goals and two assists in 23 League One matches make him one of the club’s most prolific attackers this term.
However, outside of the 30-year-old, the Red Dragons currently have little creativity through the middle.
Ollie Rathbone continues to impress following his summer move and Matty James is capable of picking out a key pass on his day.
But Wrexham could really do with more competition for Lee in the number 10 spot this term, especially as they are not the most lethal goalscorers.

Wrexham can now sign free agent to rival Elliot Lee
At present, a new striker appears to be a priority for the Welsh outfit but they now have a great chance to snap up a midfielder for free.
Wrexham have utilised the free-agent market very well in 2024/25, handing Brad Foster and James contract extensions after they’ve impressed on initial short-term deals.
Now, a top-quality free agent has just become available this week after leaving his former club.
Enis Bardhi spent the last three years plying his trade in Turkey with Trabzonspor before being released on January 15th, 2025.
Bardhi has interest from La Liga but Wrexham should look to make a move for him this month.

What Wrexham fans need to know about Enis Bardhi
Bardhi began his playing career in his home country of North Macedonia before moving to Danish side, Brondby IF.
He’s enjoyed spells all across Europe and was especially impressive during a stint in Spain with Levante UD.
Bardhi has experience in the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League – proving wherever he goes, he can score goals.
All told, the 69-time capped international has 60 goals and 35 assists across his club-playing career with a further 18 netted for his country.
