Wrexham lost Andy Cannon to injury during their recent meeting with Mansfield Town.
After a mixed run of form, the Red Dragons were looking to get back to winning ways when they clashed with The Stags on Sunday.
After Wycombe Wanderers dropped two points against Wigan Athletic the day prior, it was the perfect chance for Phil Parkinson’s men to make up ground in the automatic promotion race.
And when all was said and done, that is exactly what happened. Wrexham won 2-1 thanks to Max Cleworth and an own goal.
Cleworth earned praise from fans against Mansfield and it was, largely, a much-improved showing from what we saw against Leyton Orient last time out.
It was not all positive, however, as Andy Cannon suffered an injury after 40 minutes of action.

Wrexham could sign free agent to replace Andy Cannon
Cannon was given oxygen and was taken off via a stretcher, with Phil Parkinson providing an update post-match.
He said: “It looks like a knee injury, we don’t know the extent of it but we got the three points for Andy Cannon.”
The extent of the injury is yet to be confirmed but it does seem likely Cannon will be out for some time.
In turn, after Wrexham registered their League One squad earlier this month and left two spaces, they could now look to the free-agent market to sign a replacement for the midfielder.
They did this in October with Matty James arriving for free after George Evans was ruled out for a prolonged period.
Now, they should be looking to do so again by bringing Jeff Hendrick to the club in the near future.

What Wrexham fans need to know about Jeff Hendrick
Hendrick began his senior playing career with Derby County before securing a big move to Burnley, where he played for four years.
He’s since lined out for the likes of Newcastle United, Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers and has a wealth of experience in the Championship and Premier League.
| League | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Championship | 262 | 27 | 20 |
| Premier League | 147 | 12 | 6 |
Hendrick is a natural central midfielder but can operate as a number six or slightly further forward as a 10.
The 33-year-old is an incredibly hard-working box-to-box player who would provide adequate cover for Cannon in the final few months of the season.
He’s been without a club since leaving Newcastle at the end of June 2024.
