Wrexham had a very productive summer transfer window, but there will still be more chances for Phil Parkinson to improve his squad this season.
Like every year, as long as there is room in the squad, Wrexham could add free agents to their ranks in the coming months, as they don’t need to be signed inside transfer windows.
We saw this happen in 2024/25, with the addition of Matty James, who remains an important figure this term.
Meanwhile, the winter transfer window provides teams with an opportunity to address any gaps in their squad resulting from injuries or a decline in form.
On that front, we have picked out what would be Wrexham’s dream signing during the 2026 January transfer window.

Wrexham dream signing still available
There is a pretty obvious option that most Wrexham fans would likely agree on.
That man is Harry Wilson, who is currently valued at around £13.02m by Transfermarkt.
Wilson is a Wrexham native and attended school at Ysgol Dinas Brân in Llangollen.
However, he left North Wales as a youngster, signing for Liverpool’s academy. He failed to break into their first team before joining Fulham in 2022.
It was reported on deadline day that Leeds United were making a move for the winger, but as per the Evening Standard, the West London outfit rejected that deal.
Wilson is now in the final 12 months of his contract at Craven Cottage, and after a deadline day deal was prevented, Fulham may wish to cash in on the player in January, rather than losing him for nothing next summer.
It would certainly be an ambitious move for Wrexham, but they have proven with an approach for Christian Eriksen that they are willing to be pretty ambitious.

Wrexham fans keep asking for Harry Wilson
Given his links to Wrexham, fans have been asking about a potential move for the winger throughout the summer.
One fan wrote: “Harry Wilson with two great crosses leading to two goals. One day I’d love to see him back home at the Cae Ras @Wrexham_AFC”.
Another stated: “Hopefully one day in the Red of Wrexham (One can dream, no doubt Harry Wilson will want to join in the future).”
“Harry Wilson is signing for Wrexham in 2026,” a third tweeted.
And another even sent a message to Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac about a transfer: “Harry Wilson to @Wrexham_AFC? @RMcElhenney @VancityReynolds.”
Wilson has made 150 appearances for Fulham, scoring 25 and assisting 38.
Should he sign, the forward would join the growing list of Welsh internationals at the club, which now includes Danny Ward, Kieffer Moore and Nathan Broadhead.
